Marianne Davies Discusses Managing Immunotherapy Side Effects

By Marianne Davies, RN, MSN, ACNP, AOCN
PUBLISHED THURSDAY, JANUARY 1, 1970
Marianne Davies, RN, MSN, ACNP, AOCN, Smilow Cancer Hospital, Yale School of Nursing, discusses the challenges of managing side effects from immunotherapy treatments.

Davies says many of the treatments being developed and tested are immunotherapies. These therapies bring with them a new constellation of possible side effects and symptoms that are very different than the standard chemotherapy side effects nurses are used to.

It is important to educate nurses and primary care physicians, Davies says, but this continues to be a challenge.
