By Nancy Corbitt, BSN, RN, OCN, CRNI
PUBLISHED THURSDAY, JANUARY 1, 1970
Nancy Corbitt, BSN, RN, OCN, CRNI, University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center discusses the resources available for nurses from the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation.
Collaborating with the AA-MDS International Fund, Corbitt hopes to bring education and awareness to nurses about myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) in patients. Nurses should have a baseline understanding of these conditions, as well as an awareness of the effects of the medications. Nurses must be able to explain the medications and their potential side effects to the patients. When talking to patients, nurses can use and refer to the resources that the AA-MDS International Foundation offers.
