New ASCO Guidelines App for Phones and Tablets

Busy clinicians want—and need—information at their fingertips. The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) just released its Clinical Practice Guidelines as an app that is available to anyone for free (ASCO membership is not required) and available for iOS and Android operating systems.

The "search" mode has both an index and full-text searching capability. Notes can be created from each content screen, which may be a timesaver for information repeatedly accessed. ASCO notes that with its expert recommendations, algorithms, and calculators on the app, decisions can be made more quickly and easily at the point of care.

ASCO also has apps for maintenance of certification or “MOC”, an annual ASCO meeting planner, and ASCO membership directory. The addition of the ASCO Guidelines app is a timely and needed addition to the wealth of resources available to busy clinicians. More information is available here.
