Jeannine Brant, PhD, APRN, AOCN, FAAN, gives advices to nurses who might be considering an international nurse training program, such as the Middle East Cancer Consortium.
For nurses traveling internationally, Brant suggests cultural humility, compassion, and flexibility. Most important is to know that nurses will be meeting the needs of the students. Getting them to engage and listening to them will help nurses to facilitate change, problem-solving, discussion on ethics, and self-discovery.
