PUBLISHED THURSDAY, JANUARY 1, 1970
Deborah Becker, PhD, ACNP, BC, CCNS, practice associate professor of nursing, Penn Nursing Science, discusses the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing’s minor.

Becker says the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania has been committed to oncology patients for decadesand the Penn Nursing Science oncology nursing minor builds on previously established core competencies.

She explains that the three-course minor goes over the pathogenesis of cancer, the different treatment plans for cancer care, and patient assessment. There is also a clinical component to the program that allows nurses to get hands-on experience.
