Barry Berger, MD, Exact Sciences Corporation, discusses Cologuard, an at-home screening for colorectal cancer.

Berger says the test is straightforward because it give a positive or negative answer, which is concluded by examining DNA and fecal hemoglobin in the sample that the patients provide. However, patients should know that Cologuard does not use inherited DNA for screening, but instead looks at changes in DNA that are a result of undergoing carcinogenisis.
