MDS Treatment Takes a Team

NANCY CORBITT, BSN, RN, OCN, CRNI | April 20, 2019

It takes a team to treat patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), explained Nancy Corbitt, BSN, RN, OCN, CRNI, survivorship nurse navigator at the University of Maryland Greenbaum Cancer Center and member of the AAMDS International Foundation.

At the ONS Annual Congress, Corbitt discussed some of the key players in caring for those with MDS. They include the physician, who will discuss diagnosis and treatments, the oncology nurses who often focus on adverse event management, as well as palliative and advanced care planning specialists.
