Shapiro says the idea of reimbursement for survivorship visits is still a work in progress. There are ways to get around the system, Shapiro says, but doctors owe it to their patients to develop interventions that work.
Shapiro feels that doctors can really help cancer survivors by helping them to manage their weight and exercise.
