Emily Mason Beard, BSN, RN, OCN, CBCN is the Women's Oncology Program Coordinator at Northside Hospital Cancer Institute in her hometown of Atlanta, GA. Emily has been fascinated by the possibilities of the human body, cancer, and genetics ever since first saw cells under a microscope in a third grade biology class. She is passionate about making clinical research opportunities available to patients in the community and getting the word out about the importance of early detection and hereditary risk. Her many years as a breast cancer nurse navigator have given her unique insights into treatment related survivorship issues of fatigue, sexuality and fertility preservation.
