In a study that compared patients on chemotherapy who were given an exercise regimen of walking and resistance training to a control group of patients who were on chemotherapy alone, patient-reported outcomes revealed that those who exercised had a significantly lower incidence of CIPN. Further, Klecker also found that exercise was particularly effective for older patients, in which the control group experienced a large increase of CIPN and the exercise arm had little, if any, increase.
