Karen Lee Discusses the Importance of Caregiver Involvement

KAREN LEE, MSN, FNP-BC
Tuesday, December 20, 2016

Karen Lee, MSN, FNP-BC, of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center discusses getting caregivers actively involved.

It can be easy for patients to get overwhelmed when clinicians are relating information to them. Because of this, Lee suggests that a caregiver be there whenever possible, to help take notes and communicate information back to the patient after the appointment is over. Additionally, there are materials that can be offered for caregivers specifically, such as lectures and support groups.
