Dan Spratt Highlights Mental Health in Patients with Prostate Cancer

Video

When treating patients with prostate cancer in survivorship care, Dan Spratt underscores the importance of being aware of potential mental health issues.

Daniel Spratt, MD, chief of Genitourinary Services at the University of Michigan, explains that mental health is one of the most overlooked aspects of survivorship care for patients with prostate cancer.

He explains that side effects patients complain of could be coming from issues other than the cancer treatment, such as depression or anxiety. Nurses play a very valuable role in survivorship care in being sure to treat the patient and not just the disease.
