Anees Chagpar, MD, from the Yale School of Medicine, talks about the vital role of the nurse and suggests some important questions nurses should be sure they are asking.
Nurses, Chagpar says, are the patient's advocate and patient's voice. They should be aware of what is going on in the patient's life so they can then communicate relevant information to others on the healthcare team, for example, a patient's relationships and family, anxieties and fears, and impact of treatment steps moving forward.
