Hlubocky found that 67% of young survivors worried about death anywhere from once or twice a week to multiple times a day, with factors such as medical appointments, pain, and waiting for test results triggering these thoughts. Surprisingly, the early survivor cohort, where survivors were about 1 year out of treatment, had more death concerns than patients who were still undergoing active treatment.
