At our center, and at many of the myeloma centers, we have a whole care team that really helps us manage all aspects of the patient care. This extends not only to physicians, but to nurses, nutritionists, social workers, the whole gamut.

Nurses have an amazing ability to sit with patients and go through some of the nitty gritty, day-to-day details that oftentimes in our encounters are overlooked. We'll sit there and say, "We're going to put you on this regimen, it has XY and Z efficacy, and XYZ toxicity." But the nurses who often see the patients in the clinic as well will have some extra hints and say, "I've seen this a lot. This is more common to happen," or "If you have this, try that."
