Recognizing that providers don't have enough time to fully addressing smoking cessation, nurse navigators at Billings took steps to fill the gap. They adopted a plan of non-judgemental listening and motivational interviews. With the help of a pharmacists, they also discusses medication possibilities such as varenicline (Chantix) and bupropion (Wellbutrin) as well as non-nicotine replacements.
