Challenges in Oncology Pharmacy

Howard Cohen, RPh, MS, FASHP, director of oncology pharmacy services, Smilow Cancer Center, Yale New Haven Health, discusses the challenges of cancer treatment from a pharmacy perspective.

Regulatory demands, scarcity of trained oncology pharmacists, and the increasingly high cost of drugs are some barriers to optimal pharmaceutical support of patients, says Howard Cohen, RPh, MS, FASHP. Cohen is director of oncology pharmacy services, Smilow Cancer Center, Yale New Haven Health. In this video, captured during the 2018 National Community Oncology Dispensing Association (NCODA) Fall Summit, he discusses the challenges of cancer treatment from a pharmacy perspective.
