Lauria says many cancer patients don’t even have a primary care doctor. However, it is important for the patient’s overall health after treatment to see a primary care doctor regularly.
If a patient already has a primary care doctor, Lauria says the patient should be asked if information from survivorship appointments can be shared with their primary care doctor.
