Ajmera says the current management of stomatitis is challenging. Patients susceptible to getting stomatitis are instructed to avoid spicy foods, foods that are hot or hard and to avoid alcohol.
But when patients are being treated with everolimus, these preventative measures are not enough to prevent stomatitis, Ajmera says.
